The wire insulation didn't melt at all when the wires were soldered to a mating harness for the OEM radio connector and heat shrink tubing was applied. This had an extra wire where the original had none and the color matched to a different location on the OEM one. If I had a pick took I would have swapped it out but didn't want to damage the harness. Outside of this I have no complaints and it matches the OEM harness in gauge and color coding for everything else.
