It is about 22 lbs for each hand. If this is too strong for you, then look for an easier hand grip which are also sold by Amazon. I bought this hand grip by mistake, thinking I could trust the photo which shows 10 lbs for each hand grip. Fortunately my husband is happy with this hand grip. This hand grip displays the actual count for each hand if you COMPLETLY close the grip. Some other Amazon hand grips do not display the count, but you can keep track of the count. My husband and I each do 100 complete open and closes with each hand. **Q: Can the counter count normally?** A: We listened to feedback from some buyers, and strengthened and optimized the counter on the grip strength trainer. **Q: I want to add these to my powerlifting/bodybuilding routines, how often should I use them?** A: If you are into powerlifting/bodybuilding, I would opt for ones with more resistance.
