The individual pods are well-engineered from a heavy duty plastic with rubber seals, cord guides, and 5 latches (4 around the perimeter). The pods are easy to use, just follow the instructions and take your time. I had to "seat" one-half of the rubber seal in the opposite half before their first use. Just pay attention to the proper "orientation" of each seal before separating it the first time. If I worked hard on the seals it might have taken me up to 10 seconds...NOT A BIG DEAL AND THEY WORK. I have installed twelve pods in my yard, and they work exactly as advertised - preventing water from causing the extension cord from "shorting out" due to a heavy rainfall. Review: Weatherproof As Advertised - I needed two of these to protect the plug ends of lights I installed over my deck. They plugged in end-to-end and I wanted to make sure no rain got in. I drilled a small hole so I could attach them to my soffit. They don't really stand out now but next time I paint, they'll get painted and stand out ever less. Because of where they are, two of them live a fairly sheltered life. The other two are used when I set up Christmas lights. These two are fully exposed to the elements and so far so good. They've worked great for me.
