Looking to put on motion light for an open dog kennel.** A: It heats up right away. But we use it in our garage where we have a dog house for her. I don't know how well it would work in an open space. **Q: What is the frequency emitted? Is this actual infrared or just red glass?** A: I didn’t see a uv frequency chart for this bulb, but you may be able to compare it to another light with the same lens color. I would imagine it’s somewhere between 625 and 675. I hope that helps. **Q: UL listed?** A: I don’t believe so. It has no labeling on the box or bulb. I would think not **Q: Are these dimmable if I add a dimmer switch to my dome fixture?** A: I do not know since the place where they are in use does not have a dimmer switch.
