Review: Solved our windshield problem. - We had a windshield replaced. It apparently had slightly different curvature than the original. Although there were no leaks in the car, at Interstate highway speeds we experienced a sound like heavy rain. We observed an abnormal space between the windshield glass and the car's trim (external). We presumed that the problem was due to wind-caused vibration of the trim. I pressed this butyl into the space between glass and trim (a bit difficult because it is sticky). Problem Solved ! I still need to press the material into the space to make it invisible (maybe spray Teflon on the tool I'm using to press it in. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you.
