## Description

Rolf Mertens created the very first children's balance bike when he lovingly crafted a wooden bicycle for his 2 year old son. His son fell in love with his new toy and was soon scooting around the village. When his son became tall enough at age 4, he transitioned seamlessly to a pedal bike - without any training wheels, scrapes, or tears. Friends and neighbors asked him to make them bicycles as well. LikeaBike, based in Roetgen, Germany, was born. Since then parents (and happy children) around the world have discovered the same thing - that a LikeaBike is the best way for a child to learn how to ride a bicycle. A LikeaBike balance bike teaches a child balance and steering. Once they've mastered this, pedaling comes easily. A child forced to learn balance, steering and pedaling at the same time, often with a bicycle that weighs as much as they do, has a much more difficult time. Rolf wanted the best for his son and that's how he designs his bikes - with an uncompromising eye for quality and safety. The LikeaBike Hardy features an aluminum frame to keep weight low - just what a young toddler needs for confidence. Best of all, the Hardy's built in quality means that after your toddler has learned how to ride, it can be passed on and bring more happiness to another child.
