Review: Great railway set , beautiful train model - Bought this for my elderly father who still enjoys building g model railways. The Flying Acotsman is beautifully detailed and as with all hornby rail products well built. I would suggest buying the larger Hornby controller as this one is prone to fail after time.

**Q: Anybody know the hornbyR part nos for the coaches and brake van included in this set are as its cheaper than buy them separately**
A: While not an answer, it's probably more useful than what's already posted.

The person asked the question. Do you know the part numbers? What they were not looking for was for you to say, buy the set it's cheaper.

Either you know the part numbers or you don't. If you don't then there's zero need to answer.

**Q: Does the train go around automatic... as i want it to keep moving around a village set up .... or will it only move when using the controller**
A: when the controller is turn on and dial  is rotated to speed required will move around the track until you turn controller back to stop

**Q: What's included in the box exactly**
A: The single pack at £174.99 includes what is shown in the layout of the pieces.  It includes a Pack A. The other options include extra track and bits. We had the single pack and bought extra bits as required. Unless you know exactly how your layout is going to be, we considered this the best option.

**Q: How big is the track once assembled? Wouod like to buy as a gift but unsure if there wouod be enough room. Thank you**
A: Not sure think it's about 5' x 2'6'' I have not used the track that comes with it, I already have a layout so just used the engine & coaches. If your buying it as a present it would make an excellent gift hope it all works out O.K.

Bought this for my grandson for Christmas and to make sure that everything worked my husband set it up. (And played with it all afternoon). A bit fiddly getting the track assembled and my main concern was the controller. From reading reviews a lit seemed to have ones that didn’t work which is why we set it up. Value for money? Yes possibly. The controller is a bit flimsy and cheap looking. Not sure how long it will last. Also no rail map so have had to send for one. The controller in the flying Scotsman set appears to be a better quality. It’s fir a 5 year old so would recommend .
