It is about half the weight of 140#. So, fairly thin. It has one texture on one side of the watercolor paper and a smoother texture on the other side of the paper. No, it is not 140#. But I think it is great for kids. And I have used this weitgt of paper a lot and it makes beautiful watercolors, but it does wrinkle and has to be ironed after it dries to get it back to the smooth paper again. **Q: Can this be used for acrylic paint?** A: Works great for acrylic paint. **Q: Can you use this paper with crayons?** A: It is made for finger painting so it has a waxy finish.
