The main one being Lactobacillus Acidophilus which is particularly good at combatting the dreaded candida or yeast overgrowth. However, candida can build up a resistance to just about anything making it difficult to control particularly if you have been on antibiotics which kills off all the good stomach bugs. That’s why I have changed to Saccharomyces Boulardii which is related to baker’s yeast to help prevent the bad stomach bugs building up a resistance, after taking these for a while I will probably switch back again. In tests, S. Boulardii has been shown to secrete caproic, caprylic, and capric acid, these are fatty acids also found in coconut oil. Interestingly, by comparison with an S.
