Great Product

Review: So much better than a Romeo 4T/5S - I think others have already said most of what I want to say. But, FWIW, I was on the hunt for something with better FOV compared to the Romeo 4T - which, situated further along the Pic rail to make room for a Juliet (magnifier), makes for a HORRIBLY small sight window. Now, I realize RDS', when not magnified, are best utilized with your the general periphery in view and not what's in the optic. But that's the other thing that's awesome with Holo-style optics like this. With the 4T/4S, there's so much of the optic body that obscures your periphery. (Granted, the Juliet totally ruins this when tucked to the side anyway.) Nonetheless, the fact that you see more both within the lens and outside, makes this a more comfortable optic to use. Lastly, and most importantly to me - I found it so much easier to get my eyes to focus on a "dot"-style reticle on the Romeo 8. And this is especially the case if you've astigmatism - because a dot will appear clearer than a crosshair. Overall, paired with a larger viewing window and FOV, the Romeo 8 makes for faster target acquisition and less "second guessing". In contrast, on the 4S with the "quadplex" ret (as seen in the attached image) that's mounted so far from your eye, I often question "is that really my target that I'm seeing through this small porthole of a viewing window?" Recommendation: Get it. I have no regrets whatsoever, and am in fact replacing the two Romeo4s I have with this one. Makes for such a pleasurable experience, both on-range and ... just plain staring at it :)
Review: Very nice closed red-dot sight - big, but not as wide as EOTech sights - This seems like a big site on smaller/shorter AR's, but is very nice with big field of view. It is a slimmer profile than the EOTech sights, which was one thing I was curious about; it also does not cost as much. It is not heavy and does move well. Glass and reticle is very clear and fine. It is not a true 0-parallax sight like EOTech (holographic) sights generally are (red-dots are generally not), but the drift is very small. Overall, I am very happy with the sight and love the large field of view and thin bezels/walls. The BDC dots seem a little small to me, but that could be the shorter range weapon I have it currently mounted to, which makes it a little non-applicable to me at this time. Overall, a very nice, closed red-dot with a great field of view!

## Features

- RAPID TARGET ACQUISITION - It is is a great option for rapid target acquisition regardless of the surrounding terrain or light levels; ROMEO8 red dot sight incorporates 50,000 (ROMEO8H) or 100,000 hours (ROMEO8T) of runtime on its single CR123 battery
- STRONG, LIGHTWEIGHT AIRCRAFT-GRADE 6061-T6 ALUMINUM HOUSING - These Red Dot Sights have SIG SAUER resistance to impact and rugged construction to keep on functioning through heavy recoil and tactical use; designed for modern MSR platforms and guns
- SPECTRACOAT TECHNOLOGY - Highly efficient, ultra-wide broadband, anti-reflection lens coatings reduce surface reflections to extremely low levels across the entire visible spectrum providing superior light transmission
- MOTAC TECHNOLOGY - Activated through motion sensing technology, MOTAC immediately powers up illumination when it senses motion and powers down when it does not in order to extend battery life; unlimited eye relief to acquire aiming point and target
- ULTIMATE PERFORMANCE - The ROMEO8 aluminum closed red dot sight has also been streamlined for lighter weight and reduced visual footprint to provide a stealthier form factor for the hunter while shedding weight

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will this work with Juliet magnifier of my Cz scorpion?**
A: I have the Joliet 6 on my AR and works great

**Q: will this work for 300 Blackout or only 5.56?**
A: Yes.

**Q: Can this be used on ABR or rifles?**
A: Yes, it can be used on any rifle with a picatinny rail. However, it has the traditional AR15 offset, so a good cheekweld may be a problem. Most ABRs have such a rail and would be compatible. As for the ABR 223, you'll have to ask someone who plays Call of Duty.

**Q: How do you install the ARD? it's not in the manual**
A: There are a few good videos on you tube that walk you through it.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Personal favorite
*by V***E on April 29, 2021*

I owned a UH-1 gen2 since its release. I sold it recently because I wanted a dot sight with way more battery life. Why would I go back to holographic and its pathetic 3000 hours when the 8H gets 100,000-275,000? It’s incomparable. Pros of 8H: -huge viewing window for great FOV -Thin but very strong housing -parallax free, I tested it on items just 2-3 feet away and it’s great! If you’re at 2-3 feet from a bad guy though I doubt you’d miss. -battery life out of this world, 100k+ hours or 10 years -very CRISP and clean dot/reticles and has a choice for 65moa circle with BDC dots center -No fuzz or refresh rates on reticle compared to holographic sights -Glass is crystal clear, at first I thought the rear plane had fallen off when I got mine, but it’s just so clear it seems to not exist -Bright as heck when you need it to be -NV compatible! -completely enclosed emitter design -rear glass lowers astigmatism to a degree -shake awake very sensitive, worked 100% of the time but will observe its function down the line. -One button press to turn on in case shake awake ever fails -comes with easy mounting tools and a gorgeous package -hardcoat anodized in darker smoother type of finish. Hard to make a scratch on it, it’s superior to the huey’s coat. -Pretty much snag free design that looks futuristic and better in person Cons of 8H -It’s big, a full size optic -Some may say it looks goofy and cartoonish -You CAN see the emitter if you look downwards from the front of the sight at a specific angle -heavier than your micro dots -a very slight blue tint on front multicoat lens, but it’s on par with the huey and not noticeable in use -Because it is a dot sight, a magnifier may magnify the reticle too. Must test this later. -No titanium shroud like the 8T has. 8T costs more though. I’m going to recommend this highly due to how practical and well-made it is. Get 8T instead if you want that titanium shroud. Extra note: says assembled in USA but I read on forums that parts are sourced from Japan, so they can’t put “made in USA”.
