A few notes from someone who gave'em a try.

*by D***Y on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on September 4, 2015*

I didn't know exactly what to expect from these, but needed bases and wanted to use an Amazon giftcard that had been sitting around unused. I couldn't find the standard Games Workshop 20mil square bases, and out of the few options I could find, these seemed to be the most bang for my buck; but was skeptical. Having received and based some 28mm metal figs, here are some thoughts.-THICKNESS: these initially seem pretty thin; but compared to a standard GW 20mm base (ones that came with 'Empire State Troops'), they are actually just a hair over half as thick. That is, two of these bases stacked onto one another are about 1 or 2 millimeters taller than a GW base.- THE LIP: There is a little lip around the top edge. Depending on what you are basing and your plans for the flock/terrain, this may be a pro or a con. Pros: it looks nice (in the way frames make paintings look nicer), it can help keep pebbles, grass, and other terrain within the bounds of the base. Cons: if you are basing a model that is molded with a base already attached to its feet (most metal historical figures, for example), then you may have to pare down the metal to make it fit within the border. For instance I am basing some 28mm Irish Kern with bows. These models are in a wide stance as they fire their bows, and the metal strip/base beneath their feet is correspondingly long. My options were (1) to base them 'caddycorner', ie sideways in the base facing a corner, instead of squarely in the middle, facing a flat edge. (2) Let part of the metal base go over a lip (not too bad since the lip is so thin) or cut away part of the lip. (3) Cut away some of the metal base. For me, this all was not really a problem, but something to keep in mind given the figures you need to base.MATERIAL: The material is identical to the black plastic used by GW, or close enough to be unnoticeable by me (not a chemist, but I have been wargaming for about 30 years). It is not a hard rubber like one commenter claimed. It glues to both thin magnet and metal well with gel super-glue. I haven't tried yet but I can't see why it won't take a coat of primer just as well as other hard plastic.OTHER NOTES: There are 48 bases. They cut away well from the sprue, but it takes some extra time if you don't want to cut a little into the side of the base as you clean up that spot. Finally, I gave these a 5-star review since they had no surprises and they were precisely what I expected. Worth noting, I bought these from "ProxieModel", the manufacturer, on a Sunday night. They were marked as shipped later that night -- I was skeptical. I received them a few days later, on the very first day they were estimated to arrive! I went to the ProxieModel's website (worth looking at) and they say they are a small company. Well, they sure sent my stuff off quickly and well packaged like they care about their customers. This has affected my review, though I would still have given the product alone 5 stars. I will update if anything stands out as use this product to completion of my project.

    Exactly what I wanted

*by S***I on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on July 18, 2017*

I'm using these for 1/72 or 25mm fantasy miniatures. The bases are packaged in transparent bags with Proxie cardboard top. They are excellent:very cleanly molded of strong, stiff plastic that isn't brittle. It has uniform black color and comes on sprues which are also well molded. This is also true of the 20mm round bases, which I've ordered. I'm very happy to be ordered a domestic-produced product that's as good as this. Keep it up!

    then they're fine.

*by C***S on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on June 14, 2015*

Decent and cheap - they're cast in a rubbery plastic, not the hard crisp type that GW, for example, uses. My major problem is that they're solid all the way through - makes it difficult to pin models to them or magnetize the base. If you don't have either of those issues, then they're fine.
