I started by dabbing, wiping, and then I just left several wipes sitting on the remainder of the stain. I anchored them down with heavy objects and just left them for a while to soak up whatever was left. Yes, they have a smell - but it fades, and I'd rather deal with a chemical smell for 12 hours than live with a stained couch.
