I scoop leaves up with a rake and drop them into the hopper. I let them fall through and then drop another load in. If the leaves bog down a bit, you just have to jostle them a bit and they will fall through. I think the 11 to 1 ratio is a stretch unless you normally fluff up your leaves when you put them in the bag. Depending on the leaves I would say 6-8 to 1 ratio is more realistic. Even that's pretty good. The filter for the motor cooling air is not such a good setup. If you don't keep it clean I could see the motor failing early. Pay attention to the extension cord you use. 13 amps is a lot.
