It’s hexagonal in shape and the opening is 2-1/2 inches across and about 2 inches deep with a drain hole. My wife put a small Airplant in it. **Q: i read power button stops the magnetic thing but doesnt stop it from rotating. so my question is, how do you turn it off? is it only from unplugging?** A: From my use (about a week) the power button has no function.
