It has improved my cooking no end. I just read the required temperature for each type of meat from the guide on the back panel of the instrument, ensure that the tip of the sensor is roughly in the middle of the meat, set the temperature on the from panel which is easy and the instrument sounds an alarm when the meat reaches that temperature. I am no longer embarrassed or anxious by overcooking or undercooking. This device has improved the taste and lack of burning of my burgers, sausages, chicken and fish greatly. I am delighted by this thermometer. At the same time I bought an excellent dial thermometer (Amazon's GALAFIRE 80 mm Large Dial Face 300°C BBQ Grill Thermometer Wood Smoker Temp Gauge with Lengthened 73 mm Stem for Barbecue Meat Cooking for £10.99, FREE one day postage) for the barbecue and the combination of instruments has saved me from ruined food and much embarrassment. I started using my meat thermometer from just after I bought it on May 9th 2020 but it stopped indicating the probe temperature on July 30 2020. I had only used it 3 or 4 times. I contacted Amazon and was informed that provided I alerted them by July 31st (which I did that day) they would replace it free of charge, post free complete and I didn't need to return the faulty item. On Saturday August 1st (yes next day) they delivered a new one (complete with 2 AAA cells) which works perfectly. An amazingly good quality of service. I swapped sensors between instruments. Clearly my old instrument was fine with the new sensor so it was the old sensor that was faulty. I think the design would be better with a strain relief sleeve over the point where the cable enters the metal sensor tube. I will add a short length of heat-shrink sleeving to my new sensor as an OCD precaution. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Great bit of kit *by A***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 October 2021* The fact you can push the probe into your meat and put it in the oven and put the display on the top to either keep an eye on the temperature or set the alarm for the target temperature. The display also pivots forward so you can see it better. Having a timer is also good as we use this one and the one on the cooker if doing different things at the same time with different cooking times. 5 out of 5. Best thing is not having to take the food out of the oven probe it like we had to with our old one. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Good, except for irritating temperature feature *by D***D on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 March 2021* Sturdy design, easy enough to use. I'm using this to replace the CMM Meat Heat which I really liked.The device is ALMOST functionally equivalent to Meat Heat. Here is the problem: In temperature alarm mode, once it reaches the set temperature, it beeps for a minute and shows the SET TEMPERATURE, not the actual temperature, for the entire time. So that means, I place the probe into item, it alarms, and next logical step, I would like to probe in a few different spots to see if I can find lower temperature so that I can be sure we have a good reading. Well, the re-probing doesn't work because the varying temperatures are no longer reported.
