Review: Good for some babies with CMPA - This formula is great substitute to breastmilk/regular formula for babies that are diagnosed with dairy/soy or other allergies at a very young age. My daughter was diagnosed with CMPA ( Cows milk protein allergy) around 3 weeks of age. Meaning she couldn't have breast milk with dairy in it and we ended up switching to this formula. Alimentum contains cows milk protein but it has been broken down so small that many babies can have this formula without it bothering them. It worked for my daughter for a while but we have since had to switch to an alternative due to her starting to spit up a lot. This formula worked great in a pinch when we needed it most and for some will be one of the only options for their babies (some babies have soy allergies or allergies to goats milk as well and can't have the other formulas). But now that I have had time to do more research we are attempting to go for a more natural formula with less preservatives and chemicals such as goats milk formula (which is what were using now). This formula smells awful. Formula in general smells bad but this is extra bad. I have read that is not as bad as Enfamil's version of the hypoallergenic formula. I will say, we switched to the ready to feed over the powder specifically because it doesn't smell as bad. These 8oz ready to feed cans are more convenient than the larger 32oz jug as you can use one per feed and are way easier for traveling. But if your baby isn't eating 8oz per feeding yet you will need a cooler and container to keep the extra in while you are out or you are going to have a lot of waste. The cans are also more cost effective. You get 48oz for the same price as the 32oz jug (which is 50% more).
Review: Happy Baby! - The first two weeks of my daughter’s life, she was very colicky. We couldn’t figure out what was wrong. She constantly wanted to eat, but would arch her back, squirm, and cry while nursing. Everyone said her constantly wanting to eat was normal, but I knew it wasn’t. She was so gassy and would spit up so much. It seemed to me like she was in pain, and eating soothed her pain for a moment, but then it would get so much worse after a few sips. When she would finish a feed, she would cry and arch until the next time. She started having really strange looking poop - green or black in color and very wet. Our pediatrician said that she probably has a dairy allergy, which made so much sense. She gave us a sample of Alimentum, and that night she immediately became a different baby. She was full and content, no longer arching her back or constant gas. She ate her bottle and fell asleep immediately, like she was finally at peace enough to sleep well. At first, I was very against using formula during her first year. I desperately wanted to breastfeed, both for her nutrition and to bond with her. I had to let that go, which was very difficult for me. Giving her Alimentum was one of the best decisions we made in the beginning, and it didn’t hinder my ability to bond with her whatsoever. If anything, it helped our bond because I wasn’t as exhausted as the first few weeks. My partner is grateful as well, as she was able to give her a bottle and bond with her more than she was when I was breastfeeding. Not to mention that she was a happier baby as a result. We just want the best for her, and clearly the best was Alimentum. We have used this formula for the past twelve months, and she has been a happy, well-fed baby. She is in the 85 percentile for weight and height, when before she was losing weight. We were worried about the reviews saying that it tasted and smelled bad, which is true, but it didn't affect her at all. She loves her bottles and doesn't mind the taste whatsoever. We started with the powder version, but we found the liquid far more convenient. It is worth the extra cost, plus the powder version is harder to find. We use Subscribe and Save, and get 15% off. There is nowhere you can find it for a better price. Buying the formula on desertcart has saved us hundreds. I cannot say enough good things about this formula. It saved us in her colicky newborn stage, and it has helped her thrive into toddlerhood. Even though using formula wasn’t what we had wanted, it wound up being far better than anything we could have imagined.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How long does it last in the fridge after opening?**
A: They say to go no longer than 48 hours. We did 3 days with no issues. Must be kept in the fridge though.

**Q: It’s good expire day？When？**
A: Yes. 24 hrs after opening and refrigerated after opening.

Though it is probably still good, I would NOT use it after expiration even if it hasn't been opened. I'm not a doctor but my experience and opinion may defer from what happens.

Google some of your states dept of health or ag food safety pages or the actual manufacturer for better explanation.

**Q: Does this formula have iron as well?**
A: I did not have to give my child an iron supplement while she used this.

**Q: Why does the app say it’s in stock yet you won’t let me purchase?**
A: Try shopping on the website instead of the app. For some reason you have a lot more options.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great in a Pinch
*by H***S on April 23, 2026*

During COVID 22' you couldn't get dry formula anywhere, thankfully amazon was stocked with this premade formula, its definetly a great on the go/quick option. My only complaint was once opened it expired VERY quickly and tended to get pricey real quick if you needed multiple bottles
