Gentle, constant pressure moving up and down the length of the aglet paying attention to not deforming them. **Q: How do I apply these?** A: The metal is Soft, you need to use a pliers to fix it on the end of the shoelaces, a normal pliers can do this **Q: Has anyone tried these on para-cord?** A: I used it on some 550 paracord, it closed fine for me, just crimp them with pliers it worked very nicely! to slide it in you will have to opens it a little, which you can do with your fingers pretty easily **Q: Where do you buy the aglet die set (tool) to press/crimp these aglets? thanks!** A: There is an aglet crimp tool on Amazon. I didn't want plastic ones again so spent a teensy bit more and got these metal ones. I absolutely love them! They're easy and difficult to use at the same time but, if you work w/ them, they're a great product. The process is straight forward but requires a delicate touch to close them as the metal is very soft.I first singed the end of the laces to get rid of fuzzy strands and then inserted them into the open aglet. The directions say to use pliers to close them but, and this is where I say they're delicate, the metal is so soft, it's very easy to just clamp down on them but I think that will make them flat and possibly give them some sharp edges so fiddling w/ the pliers to shape and mold them is advised instead of just squeezing down. Mine came out exactly as I imagined they would - nice and round and the grooves and prongs worked exactly as designed. If you don't have the patience to mold them using the pliers, these might be frustrating to use.I hope this doesn't dissuade anyone from using these because they're an excellent product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good replacements. I would recommend purchasing a tool along side with these for ease of installation on clothes. These were really inexpensive but have a sturdy feel to them so they will be durable and are just under an inch long (~15/16").
