At least the two I bought do, I bought two bikes at different times and they both have coaster brakes as well as a handbrake for the front wheel. Both bikes are the smallest size, I think 12", so maybe the larger versions don't. Didn’t need the training wheels because he could already balance and the pedals came pretty natural. Tires are great for the street but don’t have great traction on gravel. We might get some different tires down the road. The bike feels heavier than my grown adult bike but maybe that’s better for safety. The water bottle holder over the tire is kind of odd because it ends up bouncing up and down and rubbing against the tire when we ride. Other than the above it is an excellent bike for the price and I expect it to last until we are ready to move up a size.
