Review: really great speaker - bought this as a christmas gift for my now ex partner lol. he really wanted it and it was a great purchase at the time for him. kind of wish I could have taken it back for myself because the quality was actually amazing for this speaker. the sound quality is GREAT even for songs with pretty heavy bass although maybe not having it too loud with that. in general, it gets really loud and again, really great quality. it is a heavy speaker for sure but this makes sense. the charging is easy, but it did seem like it took a bit to fully charge from what I remember, although I personally didn’t mind this as much. the battery life itself seemed in the middle to me. at times it seemed like it did last for a good while and other times it seemed like it could have/should have lasted longer and didn’t. overall, I think the battery life probably makes sense with the charging aspect. altogether, I think this is a great speaker for what it is

**Q: Can this be connected to a computer via aux cable?**
A: Yes, Esther, you would be able to connect the JBL Boombox 2 with a 3.5mm Aux cable to your computer. The 3.5mm Aux-In port is located on the back of the speaker, underneath the back flap. I hope this helped answer your question!

**Q: Whats the difference between this one and the other jbl boombox[Besides the price]?? Because im planning to buy the boombox and idk which one to get**
A: It's more powerful so expect louder sound, and they have changed to what is now called party boost. That means it will not work to connect to older JBL series with JBL connect +, design has changed with a bit of a sleeker look. If you own previous JBL product that use connect + and something that you think you would utilize that is one way. If this is your first product for portable speakers totally worth it so you can use the newer products together coming out. Hopefully this helps. **Q: Does the volume decrease when the battery is low like the sony srs-xb31?**
A: Yes. It definitely takes a quality hit when battery is <15%.
One thing I don't see much about. If you are able to have it plugged in while playing music, the speaker's output goes up by 20 or 25 more Watts. It gets a bit louder and there's a noticeable increase to the bass when plugged into the wall. Makes it sound better overall I think.

Outdoor mode sounds better as well.
Indoor mode sounds flat, or restrained maybe.

I’m not a sound expert, but I genuinely enjoy music. This speaker is incredible. Truly. We have a farm where we occasionally have parties out in the field. In the field of sunflowers overlooking the Straits of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Mountains, in fact. I bought one of these just to see how good the sound is outdoors and I quickly bought a second one to pair. It’s my own personal “wall of sound”. The volume, the clarity, the base all come together to give a sound not unlike live music. I can’t rave enough about these incredible speakers. They are big, and (for me) heavy. Picture a septuagenarian with big 15 pound speakers in each hand approaching the scene and you can understand. Violin music will make the hair on your neck rise a bit, crystal clear classical can begin to change your whole hairstyle, where excellent R & B brings it all home. Trust me. Your life will never be the same without a couple of these on hand for life events. Inside or outside, low volume or REALLY LOUD AND CLEAR, these speakers are built for sharing the pure joy of music.
