It would be *possible* to use this saw to trim your door in-situ but it would be very, very difficult and would take ages! The blade is very slim and so it flexes very easily on a push stroke - that's why it's a pull saw. It would be much better to take the door off its hinges, plane it and then re-hang it. **Q: Are spare blades available for this saw.** A: I would not think spare blades are available as the handle is just two bits of wood, but the saw is excellent, very sharp and the blade is flexible. The flexibility is excellent for certain cutting techniques but not like a general purpose saw. I use it for model making where it is necessary to cut very small wood sections at precise angles and for this it is perfect. **Q: Can the saw be sharpened ? If so, is it easy to sharpen ? Thanks** A: It possibly could be sharpened if you have a suitable file but it would be difficult to achieve the degree of sharpness of a new one. If you had it sharpened professionally it would probably cost more than a new one. I confident that if treated and used carefully it will last a good long time. If I do manage to blunt mine I would will simply get a new one. The teeth are extremely hard and sharp. Definitely worth the money. **Q: Struggling to understand an Amperage of 3.4A in the product description** A: This is a japanese hand saw, it doesn't have any amperage or any electrical components at all.
