They say not to, but that's just "cya" in case you're dumb enough to mess yourself up. Obviously you need ventilation as you already said, and a large enough room that nothing flammable is next to the flame. The real concern would be if there's any leak in the hose, or in the lines in the stove, or any connections between the hose -> stove or hose -> tank. But if that's the case, it's not safe to use outdoors either. **Q: What time of propane gas to use?** A: i think you meant what type? any barbecue propane bottle.. standard sizes are 1 lbs. to 20 lbs even 50. any bottle that will fit a grill **Q: I received this item today.
