The description does not explain well.** A: I received two filters, too expensive for $7.40. **Q: Do these filters have the activated charcoal? My OEM filter had a charcoal inside to filter dust odor.** A: I want to give CPAP users a hack. Cut a pair of toghts or panty hose and place it around the machine to cover the air intake. It traps anything and makes your filters last soooo much longer. You can just rotate it around to a clean spot or just throw it in the washer. Don't hesitate, purchase these.Me rambling:If you were prescribed any kind of machine that uses these filters, don't let the provider company repeatedly bill your insurance to send you new equipment absurdly marked up and required you an insane co-pay. My company is a reputable company, they provide excellent equipment, but after billing my insurance expected me to pay $120 co-pay for ONE of both kinds of filters, a new hose, a new mask, and a new soft-gel. A little less than half of that if you only request new filters (which again, is only one of the ultrafine, and one of the black sponge). On Amazon I found all products for less than $70. The mask at $40 was the most expensive, and was only purchased with the hose for an emergency backup. The filters together were less than $20 and both came with 6 each, so I have a year's supply for $20 compared to the $40 monthly my CPAP's provider wanted to charge. Initially, he got the machine, the filters and other supplies through a medical supply company in town, who billed the insurance company, with my parents paying the rest. I decided to check to see if the filters were available online for cheaper. I found these and was appalled to discover how much these medical supply companies mark up and charge for these tiny things. We got 12 filters in a pack for a fraction of what they paid the medical supply company AFTER the insurance had already paid a huge percentage of the total cost. These filters are the right size and work just as well and the more expensive ones. My folks will have me order these online from now on. That company will not rip them off anymore.
