This is alot quieter than a standard clipper. Unfortunately my aon was still freaked out when we went by his ears. He did say that it was more comfortable than standard clippers and didn't hurt his ear drums. My son has sensory problems and adhd. It was really easy to use. Since he wiggles so much and can't stay still for long it did pull his hair. Everytime he moved he yelled ouch.
