I have tried other charcoal briquettes from Royal Oak, B&B and generic brand at my grocery store. I like Kingsford because it burns evenly and gets started fast. I like these small brickettes and I don't use lump charcoal. It gives me about 2 hours of solid cooking time at 400 plus degree temperatures in my kettle grill. It burns all the way to Ash and is very easy to brush into my kettles receptacle. I have had other brands where the charcoal did not burn all the way through.
