After about 2 minutes, it sets and will not wipe off. One night, I forgot to clean it off. The next day it still looked pretty good! It wasn't as dark but I didn't even bother putting more on. It looked good enough the way it was since I didn't need to go anywhere that day. It never clumps or looks bad. The only negative is that it has to be sharpened and there is no attached sharpener.
