It actually worked very well. I was hesitant and afraid it would damage the clear coat, but figured I’d give it a try. I’d removed pinstripes from another 1992 Mazda Miata the old fashioned way and found that it left fine scratches that needed polished out afterwards.Used it with a Dewalt 20V right angle drill, kept the speed low, and the edge flat with the surface. Tried it on an inconspicuous spot first and found that it didn’t damage the clear coat.Removed the pinstripes from this Miata in about 2 hours.Still had to polish after done removing the pinstripes, but that was to try to blend any clear coat / fade differences between the body and where the pinstripes were … not because it was scratching the clear coat.These will make some mess … they’re like big erasers. And don’t get too close to edges / rolled edges … you’ll lose paint. But paint never sticks well on edges and my flub was not a flaw of the product but rather the usage. You will thank yourself later.This eraser wheel basically works by creating friction and generating heat. It is no different then if you took a heat gun to the adhesive and tried to rub it off with your finger.
