It replaced a black plastic cooking spoon I had been using for many years. This Di Oro cooking spoon is made from silicone, which along with wood and metal cooking utensils, is considered to be safe for cooking at high temperatures. [Note: I eliminated all my black plastic utensils when reports came out that many black plastic utensils were made from recycled electronic waste, which can contain toxic chemicals like brominated flame retardants and heavy metals.]

Very nice spoon. Love the color and shape. I received one at first that had clearly been used, but got a replacement that’s much better. The spoon isn’t super thick like a lot of other silicone spoons. It is very large.
