Moroccan Coffee Spice Mix. Moroccan Black Coffee or qahwa kahla is taken Turkish Style in Morocco and it is not for the faint of heart. However, this hot drink doesn't go without the exotic flavor of the Moroccan coffee spice blend where cinnamon is the main ingredient. This bouquet of spices includes: Cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, ginger, star anise, fennel and anise. Just add 1 tsp for each 2 Tbsp of coffee during the brewing process. see our Turkish Coffee Recipe Section for more details.

Review: We love this in much more than just coffee - Love this spice mix and use it for much more than coffee. It gives rice a Mediterranean flavor that pairs well with lamb or chicken. We love it in pancakes instead of plain cinnamon, also with apple/cranberry compote - it gives a depth and richness of flavor.

Instead of a full teaspoon of the mix for each 2 tablespoons of coffee, I add just a half of that or sometimes even less. Full amount is a little bit too strong for me and I taste only spices.

**Q: Can you stir this in to coffee made in a pod Brewer (keurig/nespresso) or does it have to be added during brewing?**
A: You could, but it would be better if it was added during the brewing process

**Q: Is formulation different than the Turkey coffee spice? That has cardomon at the first ingredient, this has cinnamon.**
A: Yes.  Moroccan Coffee has a higher amount of cinnamon and also many more spices than our traditonal Turkish Coffee Spice.

**Q: What is the best type of coffee to use with this coffee spice?**
A: I use an Arabica bean, medium roasted, unflavored. Depending on the find size of your coffee you can use it when making Turkish coffee, espresso, or I just sprinkle about 1/8-1/4 tsp in my regular coffee grounds for my daily pot of coffee.

**Q: How many servings are in a jar?**
A: The serving size is 1/2 teaspoon of the coffee spice mix according to the directions on the jar.  The jar is 2.0 ounces which would equal 24 servings.

I love Zamouri spices, however, they need to incorporate an outer protective seal around the lid & bottle. My order of the Moroccan Coffee Spice arrived with the lid unscrewed & the inner freshness seal had pulled away from the top of the bottle & was stuck inside the lid. Spice powder was spilling out. I do not think it had been tampered with but likely the lid was not tight to begin with & became loose in shipping transit from Amazon. Please consider adding an outer wrapper or tape around the product lid & bottle (jar). I've been buying your Turkish & Moroccan Coffee Spices for a number of years & this is first time I've received a bottle with lid unscrewed.
