So far - First off I wanna say I’m an audio person. I love music I love sound. I was very skeptical about this Radio for the price, but I figured it was worth a shot instead of spending two to $300 and I don’t need a CD player, very simple to hook up. I have it in a two door Silverado with two 6 x 9 behind the seat and two door speakers, I’m sure we all know there’s not 200 W to this, but I will say overall the sound is amazing. Definitely more than loud enough and has more than enough base,. Now I will say that the Bluetooth so far has been flawless, so far after over a week of use, I have to give this five stars. Review: Great cheap stereo - I bought this stereo the first time from desertcart warehouse for $15 because I needed a cheap stereo to install quickly in my jeep before an upcoming trip when my stereo died. It was going to be temporary until I could find something better. But I installed it, and I was really happy with it. Now I bought another jeep, and even though I willing to spend "good money", honestly I was happy with this stereo, and bought another one because I liked it. Good: * The phone bluetooth works "seamlessly". Even the stereo in my brand new $100k diesel truck doesn't do this correctly - leading to missed calls. * the built in speakerphone for phonecalls, is decent. Not awesome. But the call quality on the other end of the phone meets or exceeds the quality you'd expect from someone talking to you on speakerphone from a 25 year old jeep. * It remembers the last type of media you were playing, and continues playing it. It starts from the track you were on. * The physical buttons are easy to use. I hate touch screens. * I'm not an audiophile, but I like loud music, and this drives 4x 5.25's just fine without an additional amp. The bad: * The only downside is that I listen to MP3's on a USB stick regularly - and as mentioned it remembers that and starts playing them where I left off - however, I almost always use "random shuffle" mode, and it doesn't remember that. So it just starts from that track and continues playing in order from that point. Not the end of the world of course. The wires are color coded in different colors and stripe combinations with the schematic in the instructions. The battery power for backup comes with an in-line 10A fuse installed, which I would cut out if you are wiring into a circuit that already has a 10A or lower fuse. If you cannot reuse your vehicle's factory stereo harness, I recommend purchasing a universal stereo harness for you vehicle that will plug into your vehicle's harness. The you simply butt-connect (crimp or solder) together the universal harness and the stereo harness that comes with this stereo. **Q: Is the included wire harness copper wired? If not, how do I connect them to my car's wires that are copper? Want to connect them directly w/o kit.** A: The harness included in this kit has aluminum wires, but there is no issue connecting them to copper wires in a low-amp, dry location like under the dash. For this stereo, soldering and shrink insulating is absolute overkill. Simply use proper-sized butt crimp connectors to attach the stereo harness to either your factory stereo harness if you can reuse it, or purchase a universal plug for your vehicle that plugs into your vehicle's harness on one end and has loose wires on the other end that will butt-connect to the stereo wires. I thought the rear speakers weren't working, but it turns out the stock door speakers were rotted, and the connector inside the door that the speaker wires go through was severely corroded. Some contact cleaner and new door speakers and I had all four channels working. Installation was a breeze and it sounds good. Linked up to my phone no problem. FM radio reception is great, I can pick up stations my home stereo can't dream of getting. There are two small problems: The aux input is not sufficiently isolated, meaning if you plug your device into the cigarette lighter port for power, it will pick up a high pitched whine, especially noticeable at high volume. I had to buy a $10 ground loop filter to make this noise go away. The other thing is, there is no dimmer on this head unit. My last head unit (and the stock one) had a wire that allowed the display to dim, controlled by the dashboard dimmer knob. No such wire on this one, and also no ability to dim the display manually. This means it's bright and distracting at night.
