## Description

Give your dog long-lasting protection against fleas and ticks with a Seresto Large Dog flea and tick collar. Unlike other flea and tick protection, Seresto Large Dog flea and tick collars kill and repel fleas and ticks for eight continuous months. Seresto Large Dog flea and tick collars are recommended by veterinarians, stocked by 8,000 vet clinics* and have been trusted* by pet owners for nearly a decade.Seresto Large Dog collars make your dog’s comfort a priority by killing fleas and ticks on contact, so pests don’t have to bite your dog to die. Existing fleas die within 24 hours after initial application of the collar. After 24 hours, any new fleas on the dog are killed within 2 hours with protection against further flea infestation lasting 8 months. The prevention of infestations with new ticks starts at 48 hours after application of the collar. 48 hours after application, any new ticks are repelled and/or killed in as quickly as 6 hours. Seresto Large Dog collars protect against common pests like deer ticks, American dog ticks, brown dog ticks, and Lone Star ticks; they’re also effective against chewing lice. Fleas and ticks not only cause discomfort; fleas can transmit bartonellosis or tapeworm. Ticks can transmit Borrelia burgdorferi which causes Lyme Disease. Check the product label for information on potential side effects.Seresto Large Dog flea and tick collars are for dogs at least 7 weeks old, and there’s no prescription needed. They’re odorless, non-greasy and water resistant to swimming, exposure to rain or sunlight, bathing, and shampoo treatment.**Seresto is a trademark of Elanco or its affiliates.*Elanco Animal Health, data on file **Seresto Large Dog is water resistant and remains effective following a shampoo treatment, swimming or after exposure to rain or sunlight. Under normal conditions, effectiveness lasts for 8 months. In order to maintain an eight-month duration, dogs must not be bathed more than once per month. For dogs that swim once a month or more, the control duration is reduced to 5 months for flea control and reduced to 7 months for tick control.Seresto is rigorously regulated worldwide with your pet in mind. Fake Seresto collars are ineffective and can put your furry friend at risk for expensive flea and tick infestations and painful flea and tick bites which can result in transmission of certain diseases. One of the best ways to make sure your Seresto collar is authentic is by making sure it’s “Sold By” one of our authorized sellers. Review: LONG THOROUGH REVIEW from a skeptical pessimist - This collar is PERFECT. Okay so I was really really super skeptical about buying this for several reasons: - I hate the thought of my two pups having to constantly wear an extra collar - I've tried the flea/tick collars from Walmart and they were greasy and had a weird smell but even worse, they did NOT work. - I've read some of the horrifying reviews - I'm just a skeptical person and simply didn't think this would work. BUT IM A BELIEVER NOW. For context, I have a 3yr old short haired ~45lbs pup (pitbull, lab, corgi mix) and and a 7yr old long haired ~30-35lbs pup (Lhasa Apso terrier mix). I live in Maryland where the weather is just always unpredictable. I feel like we have like 6 seasons instead of 4. We have woods in the back of our house which deer always like to frequent, along with a swamp/pond across the street. This spring and the start of this summer we had a monsoon season where afterwards, there was an annoying infestation of ticks (mostly Lone Star and Deer ticks). It was disgusting. I legitimately could not take my dogs out for a walk without finding at least 4 ticks on them afterwards and on me!!! And this is on top of treating my dogs with the monthly tick/flea topical oil treatment. That's how bad it was, which is what prompted me to buy the Seresto collars. (I bought Large for both of them) Once I did and placed them on my dogs, after maybe like 1-2 days, I have not found a single tick on them. I know that sounds so far fetched but I don't know what else to say because it's absolutely true. It does take about 1-2 days for the medication to get into the system (from experience and from *I think* what the package said) because I still did find a few ticks on them the next day. But after that, not a single tick! They've been wearing the collars for about 1.5 months now so I'm still keeping an eye on them (I plan on updating this review after 7-8 months to see if the claim of lasting 8 months is legitimate). Right now though, I am sooo happy. Now I want to address some of the other reviews I saw. After I saw some of the pictures of rashes this collar left on some dogs, I was worried, especially cause my smaller one already has exist in skin issues. But both are doing perfectly well with no skin issues from the collar. I don't want to be presumptuous and I may be totally wrong, but I'm thinking maybe the rashes the other dogs had were because they're not used to wearing collars? So they just kept itching at it? Maybe? I say that because for me at least, my dogs are used to wearing their regular collars nearly 24/7 since they were babies. So when I added the Seresto collars, they were unphased. But then again I'm also aware that just like humans, each dog reacts differently. Luckily, My dogs have no rash problems from the collars. As for some claiming that the collar doesn't work.. I'm not sure what to say other than that they really truly work for my dogs, and I live in a heavily tick infested area. It really is like night and day in terms of how well this collar works at preventing tick bites. Especially with my long haired dog since ticks would easily hide in her fur. The collar isn't greasy nor does it have a strong emanating odor. BUT it's still medicated so it still has a very slight residue to it but nothing that interferes with everyday life. I'm sold and plan on continuing with this product from here on out. NO MORE GREASY NASTY SMELLY TOPICAL MONTHLY TICK GREASE! **Side note** Make sure you read the packaging instructions carefully!! They mention a few things like about how the efficacy is shortened to something like 5 months for dogs who swim a lot, or how the collar is designed to unlatch if the dog pulls incase it gets stuck on something (which I thoroughly appreciate) so you CANNOT substitute this as a walking collar! The collar DOES unlatch if you hold onto it and your dog pulls (personal experience: guests came over, one jumps and I accidentally grabbed the Seresto collar and it unlatched). But you CAN reattach it!! So definitely take the time to read the package instructions. Hope this helps! I really loveeeee this collar. THANK YOU SERESTO!!!
Review: Great value, very effective - Love this flea and tick collar for my 3 year old lab. Only had skin irration for two days around collar then did not bother him at all, I went from finding two ticks a day on him to nothing at all. Great value for your money and hassle free. I change it every 6 months and have had no issues with ticks for the last 3 years. So glad I found this, has saved me so much money

## Questions & Answers

**Q: why does it say that you are not to sleep with your pet? If they can eat it with no side effects//**
A: That is a foreign policy not a US policy. Like the California cancer warnings on everything. While I am not going to say these are completely safe, after reading through articles it is important to note that the two chemicals in the collars have been around for 30 years and gave been used as flea/tick treatments for that long. We have no evidence suggesting that there is a danger to humans when used correctly.

While I generally do not use flea products of any kind, this year, after not needing anything for over 10 years, is a bad year. I tried Frontline and it did nothing but turn one of my cats into a heap of sores. We are using this collar from here on out until the fleas are eradicated. Just use it correctly and for the least amount of time possible. Treat your home. Keep cats indoors.

**Q: can i wear this? i am a humanoid.**
A: In all seriousness probably not. But at the same time I actually had a Bayer rep come to my school (I was in a Vet program) and he wears one to all the seminars he goes to in order to prove that it is safe. (His predecessor used to drink k-9 advantix to prove the same point) Yes there are people that react to some of the chemicals, but that can be true of soaps and detergents and other products that ARE made for humans. At the end of the day its up to you.

**Q: what is the weight for a large dog collar?**
A: I ordered three large, even though my three dogs vary in size and weight. But the options were only for small dog or large dog. All three of my dogs needed the collars trimmed, because they come long enough for probably a Great Dane. I kept the cuttings, intending to dispose of them, until my neighbor, who is on Social Security, saw them, asked for them, sewed them together, and made his little dog a collar out of the cuttings. By the way...my collars went on on July 6, 2013, and two months later not a flea in sight. I welcome this opportunity to help anyone learn about this great product. No drops EVER lasted more than three weeks, and the good ones aren't cheap. Hope this helps.

**Q: Do these really work? My dogs are outside all the time, day and night, on a farm and fleas are a terrible problem. Nothing non prescription works.**
A: We're in month 5 of our third collars for each of my two dogs. While my dogs are not out 24/7, they are out many times throughout the day, 30 minutes to a couple hours at a time, and we live in a very rural, thickly wooded area. The collars have lasted 8 months and I have taken them off at 9 months just because. I haven't seen a flea and the only ticks I've seen have been half-dead on the outside of their fur, like they were trying to get away. They don't smell like other flea collars, either. There are seven dogs in my neighborhood wearing these collars because I so highly recommended them and four dog-owners glad that they followed my advice. I just can't say enough good about these collars. Seriously.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best Flea & Tick collar - Repeat buy every year
*by I***K on May 9, 2026*

This is the only flea and tick collar we trust for our 65lb Catahoula, and our vet recommends it. We actually bought these twice from the vet before realizing that they were available otc... at nearly 1/2 the cost. The collar is soft and flexible and hides easily under a collar if that is your desire. Make sure to activate it before putting it on your dog by lightly stretching and unrolling it, bending it backwards a bit. It will have a grayish-white, powdery film to indicate that the medication is exposed and the collar is ready to be put on your pet. When you put it on, wrap it around where its collar usually lies, pull it through two loops, ensuring it is not too tight and that you can fit two fingers between the collar and the dog's neck. Trim the excess, and that's it! The medication will kill any fleas or ticks crawling around within 24-48 hours. It has no discernible scent that I've noticed, and the light gray color is just noticeable to know it's on. Catahoula Leopard dogs are known for their sensitive skin, but this medication has no effect, and he has never lost hair from it. We will continue to buy this for our doggo. He deserves the best
