Review: Great Gaming Projector - This is a great 4k projector if you have a PS5 or Xbox Series X. It does 4k 60fps with HDR, and does 120fps at lower resolutions. I don’t use a PC with it but with that you can get up to 240fps. Overall it is a solid device. The reason I’m writing a review is because I had this projector for one year to the day when I noticed one dead (white) pixel near the center of the screen. Since I use it for gaming, it bothered me so much since reticles are typically white dots and it threw me off a lot. Called Optoma right away. They said they would cover it under the one year warranty but didn’t have parts to fix it. They told me to hold onto it until the parts came in. A few months later I got an email telling me to mail it in and two weeks after than it’s back and like new. Great customer service and a solid projector for gaming.
Review: Want a $1500.00 piece of Chinese junk? You're in luck! - I've had this projector for almost a year. Several of the chips inside the unit have malfunctioned, resulting in 5 (at last count) white, pixillated spots basically ruining the picture. I contacted Optoma and filled out a service ticket for repair. I then received an email, that wasn't even signed by a rep, stating that due to a "global parts shortage" that they were unable to honor the warranty now but may be able to do so in the future if they receive parts to do so. I then spoke with two customer service reps who were not rude but certaintly not helpful. I recommended that since they could not repair my unit under the terms of their warranty that they send me out a new unit instead. Both agents declined. One agent even tried to tell me that since my unit was almost a year old (ie: almost out of warranty) that they would never even consider replacing it. Someone at Optoma should inform the agent that whether an item is a day old or 364 days old, a years warranty is a YEARS WARRANTY. I then asked the agents how Optoma, in good conscience, could continue selling products they know are defective when they also know that they will be unable to honor any warranty repair work. I was told that since they did not sell units directly to consumers that they would not be replacing my unit with a new one and that they could only provide the remedy of letting me know, at some unknown and arbitrary time in the future, when they might have the parts to fix it. And get this, they also recommend I CONTINUE using the projector!! Earth to Optoma: It's BUSTED you moron! All in all, its not even a good very projector. The blacks are muddled in darker movie scenes, when powering on the picture does a weird, discombobulated dance on the screen, it randomly shuts off by itself, or goes into a weird mode where it searches for a signal right in the middle of watching TV or playing a game and sometimes runs in a pulsating fashion for several minutes before shutting down. Dear Optoma: Ill wait for you to fix my projector simply because I have no other choice. Ill just dust off my 8 year old Epson workhorse I was smart enough to keep just in case this type of thing happened. It may not have low latency when it comes to gaming but it WORKS. It was also half the price of the POC from the PRC.

This is a great 4k projector if you have a PS5 or Xbox Series X. It does 4k 60fps with HDR, and does 120fps at lower resolutions. I don’t use a PC with it but with that you can get up to 240fps. Overall it is a solid device. The reason I’m writing a review is because I had this projector for one year to the day when I noticed one dead (white) pixel near the center of the screen. Since I use it for gaming, it bothered me so much since reticles are typically white dots and it threw me off a lot. Called Optoma right away. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This thing is a TV killer

Holy cow! This projector is incredible! This is my second Optoma projector (upgraded from the GT1080 darbee short throw gaming projector) and man am I impressed. The main feature I was looking for was refresh rate and this unit delivered. When using a projector on a large screen, (mine is 100") images moving horizontally usually have a ghosting effect and a very noticeable stutter. Not with this guy, even at 4K, it holds 60fps easily and at 1080p, its 120fps BUTTERY SMOOTH! I could not ask for a better projector. Image quality is 10/10, color reproduction is also 10/10. Although this thing is amazing it might not be for everyone. If you are looking for a home cinema projector to only watch movies / TV ect. I might look at one of the Epson or Sony 4K projectors. The Epson will give you even better lifelike color reproduction and support for the rec. 2020 color space at the cost of a lower refresh rate and higher input lag. The Optoma is for GAMERS! If you want low input lag and high refresh, look no further. I was willing to compromise color accuracy for all those other features, which in my opinion was worth it. By no means are you gonna use this thing and say "wow I wish the colors were better." Only the most hardcore cinefiles would complain. I also have a Sony 55" 4K TV that i don't even use anymore, The Optoma just straight up looks better and having a 100" 4K image is quite cool. Other side notes... 1: get a screen, you can just use a white wall, but for a projector this nice, you will want a screen. I use an elite screens screen that was about $200 on amazon and it was worth it. 2: get a power conditioner. I have a 7000 watt 5.1 stereo system and with the projector running it does create a hum in the system. Its also a good idea to have the projector plugged into a surge protector just in case. Overall, this thing is incredible and I would pay $2000 + for a projector this nice, I couldn't believe how beautiful the image was for $1600. Optoma, nice job.
