A: There aren't tension controls but you can set for speed.

**Q: Assembly required?**
A: No assembly / may have to put pedals. Then plugin and go.

**Q: Is there a manual operation?**
A: Yes.  You can turn the pedals with your feet or hands manually without the motorization.  I'm not sure if the resistance stays the same, but the counter does count the revolutions even with manual use.

It works fine; but...Short cord, it slides easialy, awkward to handle and move. Footstraps are difficult to adjust to size. Needs a holder for the timer. Build quality is good. Price is all over the board.
