Before I tell you why, I want to briefly discuss what MYO is and how it can improve PCOS. What is Myo-Inositol? A member of the B vitamins, MYO is believed to improve egg quality and acts as a secondary messenger involved in glucose utilization. It's believed that women with PCOS may have a defect in secondary messengers contributing to insulin resistance. How I explain this to my patients with PCOS is this: when we eat foods, mostly carbohydrates, they get converted into glucose in our blood stream. We need the glucose to enter our cells to be used for energy. When blood glucose levels rise, a signal (imagine a doorbell is rung) is sent from the cell door to the nucleus telling it to open up. However, with PCOS, the doorbell on the cell door may be defective. This means that it takes longer for the cells to open its doors to glucose resulting in higher amounts of insulin needing to be secreted. MYO, as a secondary messenger, acts to repair the doorbell so that the cell doors open in response to glucose, resulting in less insulin needing to be secreted. Other than MYO and folic acid, there are no more ingredients, artificial colors, gluten, or sugars added. Personally, I was thrilled with the results of taking Pregnitude (at the PCOS Nutrition Center, we don't recommend a product unless we've used it). At my last physical, I discussed taking Pregnitude with my doctor. I had initial blood work done to check my cholesterol and glucose and then took 2 packets of Pregnitude (the recommended dose) each day for 3 months. I didn't alter my diet, exercise or supplement use. During this period, I experienced bouts of low blood sugar. My doctor recommended I decrease my metformin by 500 mg and I never experienced low blood sugar again while taking Pregnitude. Lean women with PCOS or those that don't have severe insulin resistance may not need the full dose of MYO at 4 grams/day. If you are planning on trying Pregnitude, you may want to start out with one packet per day (2 g MYO) for a week to see how you respond. After 3 months, I repeated my blood work and am pleased to share the results with you: my HDL (the "good" cholesterol) went up 5 points and my CRP went down 1 point. I also saw improvements in glucose as measured by HA1C. An unexpected surprise was that my hair was thicker. Not bad for only 3 months! Review: Fantastic! Finally pregnant after 8 years! - I felt very compelled to write a review for this product since my results have been so fantastic... and FAST! I'm 33 and was diagnosed with PCOS about 8 years ago. As long as I can remember I haven't had regular periods - maybe between 2 and 6 times per year. They were crampy and miserable and it would last anywhere from 1-7 days. About 2 months ago I started acupuncture for fertility and my provider suggested I start this powder - 2 packets in water per day while taking my daily herbs etc. Well 2 days after starting this I got a healthy period for roughly 5 days and exactly 30 days later I got another. I'm amazed and obviously I can't be sure if I'm regular now or even ovulating at all, but I'm most definitely on the right track! It's expensive but no more than taking birth control pills or whatever harmful medication your MD might prescribe to regulate a cycle! I also take 5000 IU vitamin D3 and recently started on verdant vitex and Menotrol. I'm hooked and just received 3 more boxes!! There's a slightly sweet taste but otherwise you'd never notice it in regular water. Good luck everyone! July 13 2015 UPDATE: So I religiously took this stuff for about 3-4 months and got my period every month between 28-35 days apart. **Q: Can you mix it with something other than water?**
A: I’m pretty sure you can mix it with anything. I always mixed it with water. I am one of those people that hate liquid medicine and would throw up with anything liquid and this just tasted like the water was a little sweeter. Barely any taste at all. You could probably mix it with anything.

**Q: Has anyone 39 of age or up used this product and have success?**
A: Yes! I'm 43 and got pregnant a month after using this product.

**Q: Does this help if in pre menopause?**
A: Not sure if you are still looking for an answer to this, but my doctor recommended this supplement to me and there’s a chance I could be entering pre-menopause (I’m 39). Good luck :)

**Q: Do you mix both packets together and take at same time?**
A: Hello, it is best to follow the instructions on the package, which is one packet in the morning and one packet in the evening. Thank you.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ PCOS & Pregnancy Success!

While I can’t scientifically attribute this entirely to the Pregnitude product, what I can tell you is that I am a classic PCOS case with polycystic ovaries. I was certain that I was going to have difficulty conceiving. After about six months of casual “trying,“ I started using this product. I got pregnant the first month taking it! To be fair, I was also tracking ovulation and following other techniques to conceive, so my success could be a combo of both. As far as the product itself goes, it is completely tasteless, it completely dissolves in water, and you truly cannot detect it. I’m continuing to take it while pregnant because of the high folic acid content. As far as I’m concerned, this is a great product and could potentially help with conception. There’s nothing to lose, so I’d recommend trying it!
