I’d still had to co-wash my hair only once a week to make the color last as long as possible, re-color it once a month, and re-touch my roots every 6-8 weeks depending on growth. I love my purple hair but the maintenance process is exhausting! I NEEDED to find a more permanent solution. I stumbled upon Colour-Plex in Amethyst so I decided to give it a shot. I washed my hair with a clarifying shampoo before applying to get rid off as much of the previous color as possible. First impression: Colour-Flex was very easy to mix, it smelled good, application was smooth, and there was just enough product to fully cover my entire shoulder length thick hair. The recommended processing time is 25 minutes, but I left it on about an hour before washing it with cold water using only conditioner and rinsed it until the water was clear. I have to say that I’m very impressed with the results and I like it so far! Once my hair dried, I noticed that my grays were completely covered and it deposited enough color on the rest of my hair so I didn't need to use a color mask after to get it to the shade I like. The color is a deep purple with blue undertones that looks almost black inside and bright purple in natural light, my hair smells amazing and it is sooo soft! Also, I noticed that my hands and nails weren’t stained after styling it, which is a problem I’ve dealt with my previous method. I read the directions and did exactly step-by-step. What they told me to do. I have extremely purple roots in places and the rest of my hair was stripped of all of its color. It also dried my hair out so much I had to layer it and now I have a mullet. The last photo was what the color looked like before I used this hair color. I didn’t know it would strip out all of that violet color that I had. I just wanted to cover my roots as you can see in the three prior photos, my hair is brownish silver now with purple roots.
