I've also use them on stainless with success Review: Replacements for cheap inserts that came with the holders - These are definitely an improvement over the original inserts that came with my inexpensive 1/2" set of 5 indexable tool holders. They seem to have a sharper edge and the surface finish is improved. Now I'm getting picky; these are good inserts for the money. It's probably not a fair comparison but I have not been able to get as good of a surface finish with them as I do with ISCAR inserts that have a 907 coating.
