Am I missing something?** A: I’ve used these well over a year now, they do have an optional insert but I find it unnecessary. The diaper itself is much thicker like an inserts built in already. As we’re potty training our 2 year old I find his bladder let’s out far more, the insert at night will guarantee me no leakage, prior to his sleeping through the night we never added the insert though and had no leaking. So I’d say without insert it’s your typical good quality cloth diaper, with insert it’ll hold that bigger bladder toddler capacity as well.
