Review: Slow as hell - Shipping every slow reason for buying was because the arrival time !!! Not happy Product was what I needed Review: 5.0 out of 5 stars - The Best Investment for Crystal-Clear Pool Water - NO JOKE! - Let me start by sating that I was using a high end 4 cartridge filter for my pool for the last 7 years and every year the water quality would slowly degrade ( and yes I even replaced the cartridges every year too) and it was clear to me that I needed to make some sort of change so I got this filter and let me tell you do not hesitate - its does an amazing job. The nicest thing is the backwashing - it cleans all the junk of of the filter and just makes the whole system work better. In the 14 years that we had had the pool I swear on a tack of bibles that the water has never been easier to maintain and it's been the clearest its been in all that time - I'm sold on Hayward products. The Hayward W3S310S ProSeries 30-Inch Side-Mount Sand Filter is, without a doubt, the best upgrade I have made to my pool system in years. After struggling with a smaller, older cartridge filter that required constant cleaning and still left my water looking hazy, switching to this 30-inch sand beast has been a revelation. Unmatched Performance: The difference in water quality was noticeable within 12 hours of installation. My pool, which holds about 26,000 gallons, went from acceptable to absolutely crystal-clear. The flow rate is excellent, and it effortlessly handles heavy debris from storms and high bather load. I am genuinely impressed by its ability to polish the water. Easy Installation and Operation: Installation was straightforward, thanks to the side-mount design. The 7-position VariFlo™ control valve is robust, easy to operate, and clearly marked, making backwashing a simple 5-minute task. It holds a significant amount of sand, meaning less maintenance compared to smaller filters. If you are tired of daily skimming and weekly scrubbing, make the investment in the Hayward ProSeries. It is built like a tank and delivers professional-level filtration. Highly recommended for anyone with a mid to large-sized residential pool. ## Features - ALL-WEATHER PERFORMANCE: The Hayward ProSeries 30-Inch Side-Mount pool filter is molded of corrosion-proof material for all-weather durability and long-lasting performance - BALANCED FLOW & BACKWASHING: Pool sand filter features an efficient, multilateral underdrain assembly with 360° self-cleaning, slotted laterals - QUICK ACCESS: Sand pool filter with flanged inspection cover allows convenient access to the top of the filter for maintenance and inspection - EASY OPERATION: Designed for in-ground and above ground pool use, this Hayward pool filter supports a 6-position Hayward VariFlo control valve and lever-action handle to quickly dial in the right valve/filter function (valve sold separately) ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Best Sellers Rank | #603,005 in Patio, Lawn & Garden ( See Top 100 in Patio, Lawn & Garden ) #331 in Sand Pool Filters | | Customer Reviews | 2.9 out of 5 stars 16 Reviews | ## Images ![Hayward ProSeries 30" Side-Mount Pool Sand Filter. 98 Gallons per Minute - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61OZiHI9WEL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: What valve is included? The only review says it came with nothing!** A: Hayward does not include a valve on this filter. It must be purchased separately. They are available in 1.5" and 2" **Q: what size pool is this for? cannot believe this information is not on the chart? Are we supposed to guess what size we need?** A: Choosing the Hayward Sand filter size (Model) The size of sand filter depends on the water volume of your pool and the pump flow rate you have. When it comes to choosing a filter, it must be sized to match the pump which in turn must match the circulation needs of the pool. First determine the gallons per minute your pump is currently distributing. Then, determine the filter that has a flow rate above the GPM (gallons per minute) rating. Then consider the turnover rate (Gal) you need to filter your pool properly. In general, a larger pool filter will give you better water with less maintenance. The Hayward web site includes a chart which should help you. Our pool contains 17,500 gal. of water, the flow rate will turn over 47,000 gal. in 8 hours. We hope this helps **Q: how much does it weigh** A: I don’t have the actual weight, but I can tell you without sand moving it to the spot where it was going that it’s got to weigh 100 lbs or so. **Q: What is the sq footage of the hayward w3s310s proseries sand filter?** A: As I recall the filtering sq ft is 5, plus or minus a bit depending on how full of sand it is. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐ Slow as hell *by R***Y on July 21, 2026* Shipping every slow reason for buying was because the arrival time !!!
