Review: Cast Iron Sturdy - Cast Iron, it's nice and heavy sturdy, the size is lovely and big at a massive 8L. when used properly it cooks to perfection distributing the heat across the whole pot, but amazingly the handle stay cool enough to handle. It comes with a great little booklet on how to care for it, i reccomend seasoning it straight away. I unfortunately left it out overnight on first use and it got some rust, but the advice to rectify it helped and it was perfect back to use straight away. I use this for evening fire pit get togethers and cook everything in it: soups, broths, casseroles, baked potatoes, and the lid turns into almost a flat pan when flipped! so frying is possible. I Would recommend for anyone looking for a big cast iron fire pit dutch oven.

A: Overmont Dutch oven can be used on a gas stove top, induction stove top, charcoal grill, campfire and in the oven. Please do NOT put it in the microwave.

**Q: Is this pre-seasoned? Do I need to season it myself?**
A: It is pre-seasoned with vegetable oil and ready to use.After each use, just lightly oil the inside of the pan with your oil of choice.

**Q: Can a Dutch oven rust?**
A: Yes. Cooking food releases steam and after the oven is turned off and begins to cool down, this steam condenses to water. Moisture is what contributes to the rust of a cast-iron product.

**Q: What should I do if it is already rusted?**
A: Follow our steps to cook, clean, season, and your cast Iron Dutch oven will last a lifetime. See the manual for details.

**Q: Is it normal for cast iron pans to have uneven thickness at the bottom?**
A: It is normal. The bottom center of the pan is where it gets the warmest while cooking, so it will be thicker than the rest.

Cast Iron, it's nice and heavy sturdy, the size is lovely and big at a massive 8L. when used properly it cooks to perfection distributing the heat across the whole pot, but amazingly the handle stay cool enough to handle.
