It is presented to a person who distinguishes him or herself conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his or her life above and beyond the call of duty while:engaged in action against an enemy of the United States;engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force; or serving with friendly foreign forces engaged in an armed conflict against an opposing armed force in which the United States is not a belligerent party. The Medal of Honor was established by Congress and signed into law by President Abraham Lincoln in December 1861. Former President George W. Bush described it as "the nation's highest military distinction and the greatest award for bravery a President can bestow."In the 150 years since its creation, less than 3,500 members of the U.S. Armed Forces have received the award for distinguishing themselves conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his or her life above and beyond the call of duty.U.S. Marine Sergeant Dakota Meyer is the most recent recipient of the Medal of Honor. He received it on September 15, 2011 for his heroic actions in Afghanistan that helped save the lives of 36 men.The obverse of the Medal of Honor depicts Army, Navy and Air Force Medals of Honor and the inscriptions: LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, 1861 - 2011 and MEDAL OF HONOR.Its a great privilege to own these.Get them while you can Review: Superb - Good Coin.Great Finish. ## Features - Includes protective Display capsule Case - 24kt Heavily Gold Layered Medallion - Beautifully Struck Medal of Honor Commemorative ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B01M7VOEXS | | Battery Types | No batteries required | | Brand | GOLD MINT | | Colour | Gold | | Country of Origin | USA | | Customer Reviews | 4.2 out of 5 stars 22 Reviews | | Is Assembly Required | No | | Manufacturer | GOLD MINT | | Manufacturer Part Number | GOLD MINT12 | | Manufacturer recommended age | 8 years and up | | Material | Metal | | Number of Players | 1 | | Operation Mode | Manual | | Size | 40mm | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Images ![GOLD MINT 1861 USA American Military Liberty Medal of Honor Commemorative 1Oz 24kt Gold Restrike Copy Coin - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51RlBHr4DlL.jpg) ![GOLD MINT 1861 USA American Military Liberty Medal of Honor Commemorative 1Oz 24kt Gold Restrike Copy Coin - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71ZVl6Bv+ZL.jpg) ![GOLD MINT 1861 USA American Military Liberty Medal of Honor Commemorative 1Oz 24kt Gold Restrike Copy Coin - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51Q3V-2y8jL.jpg) ![GOLD MINT 1861 USA American Military Liberty Medal of Honor Commemorative 1Oz 24kt Gold Restrike Copy Coin - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61j-75zPPsL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Superb *by A***Y on 27 June 2020* Good Coin.Great Finish. ## Frequently Bought Together - GOLD MINT 1861 USA American Military Liberty Medal of Honor Commemorative 1Oz 24kt Gold Restrike Copy Coin - Shiva with Nandi Bull Universe Gods of The World Elizabeth II 1Oz Huge Cook Islands Restrike Silver Plated Token Coin --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.us/products/181187729-gold-mint-1861-usa-american-military-liberty-medal-of-honor](https://www.desertcart.us/products/181187729-gold-mint-1861-usa-american-military-liberty-medal-of-honor) --- *Product available on Desertcart United States of America* *Store origin: US* *Last updated: 2026-10-09*
