Listen to the part about the gloves. I didn't and nothing happened. Cleaned the box and replaced wearing gloves and within 5 days my problem had gone. **Q: Do the rats die in the box after ingesting the poison - ie, do I have to remove the dead rat?** A: The bait box is a housing unit for the poison. The rodent will go back to wherever it is nesting to die. **Q: Do you put the bait loose inside the trap or leave it in the black sachet?** A: Personally I empty the sachet (carefully so as not to come into contact with the poison). **Q: Can i put this near my bird station without the birds being harmed** A: The best place to put this is in a rat or mouse run. These tend to be against walls, fences ect. While birds cannot get into them, the little pellets can come out as the rodents crawl trought it, so I would not have it in the open. Also, wear gloves when you set it up. I didn't originally, and nothing happend for a week or so.
