These skis have moved her from an intermediate to an advanced intermediate and she loves them (she skis mostly Black Diamonds). I noticed someone else skiing them on our hill and I asked her how she liked them and she said that they had significantly enhanced her skiing. She couldn't say enough good things about them. In general, unless you are an obsessive carver or freerider, the safest and most fun ski is a midfat rocker; meaning a ski waist between 85 and 100mm (these are 90mm) and a ski tip that rises up to travel over variations in snow conditions (all of Rossi's skis have rockered tips now). You can easily carve with these, but they aren't as twitchy as traditional carving skis, which means you can just relax and have fun. A personal word of advice: rockered skis should be detuned from the tip or tail to approximately the contact points or just a little before depending on how aggressively you ski. . Ask your ski shop about this. Rossis come with 1 degree base and side bevels, but I'd recommend 1 degree base and 2 degree side bevels. Once again ask your shop if this is too technical. Although not officially recommended you can offset these bindings to move your boots closer to the center of the ski. Generally, a "center mount" makes a ski easier to control.
