Apparently modal is a product made from wood fibers ( not bamboo). This material is very smooth and soft but not shinny. These are very comfortable. fit well with enough stretch to stay in place without binding or pinching. Seem to be well made. They dry quickly, but not as fast as the synthetic materials. Priced rite - a no brainier.

Comfortable, breathable with a good balance of support and stretch. Even has a decent selection of colors. Will absolutely buy again. Men's thongs can get very expensive quickly, but these are priced very reasonably.
