Our dog is a 15.5 lb Jack Russel mix. The heighth of the dish is perfect for him. He no longer is bending his neck down to eat. He no longer pushes his bowl all over the kitchen trying to get every last bit of food . The bowls stay in place for him. The base is so easy to clean. I separate the two pieces and run hot water over them. The material is such that any food on the base just rinses off easily.
