The Seller questions section asks if this filter is N95 compliant. The seller mentions that he thinks the filter protects you against particulates. This filter -in and of itself- does not protect to the level of N95. I am guessing the seller never opened one of these because it would break the seal. Inside is the 3M fact sheet which advises you must add the 5N11 filter to achieve N95 level of protection. This info is also available on the 3M website. The picture shows the parts needed to protect to the level of N95. If you want only N95 particulate protection you don't need this filter. The 3 parts in the picture will get you that. You will need the P-95 filters that go with this mask. Search for: 3M 5p71 P95 Particulate Filter, Use with 501 Filter Retainer, Box/10 To hold them on you will need: 3M Respirator Filter Retainer 501, 2EA Set. I would get the 6001 organic vapor filter. They are good for 30 days or 10 hours of use once you open them. If you have any other questions let me know, I teach this at work. For just particles the P100 is good. If you want a vapor and particulate combination search for: 3M Multi Gas Vapor Cartridge, Filter 60926, P100 Respiratory Protection. It depends on what you want to protect yourself from. Make sure your mask fits. To do a quick self test where the filters go block off both sides with your hand and breath in gently. If the mask pulls up tight with no air leaking you are good. Then blow out holding you hand over the check valve in front, the mask should want to pull away. **Q: Does this mask protect against vapors of hydrochloric and/or nitric acid?** A: I needed a mask that filters gasoline vapors. I contacted the 3m customer helpline, they advised this filter for my mask. It worked so well I did not smell or sense the fumes in any manner. Repair parts are available from Amazon. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for handling pool chemicals *by T***N on June 17, 2020* I docked a Rating star for packaging because it came in the factory sealed 3M paper pouch, but there was no outer box. So, if the pouch had a gotten any abrasion during shipping or handling and a hole rubbed through, the expiry date out be void. As it stands, my package arrived intact. I received it June 2020 and the expiration is April 2025. I plan to use this right away, but I’m pleased to see that I did receive a fresh one with plenty of shelf life on the activated charcoal. I’m using this with a 3M 6900 full face respirator. If you handle strong swimming pool chemicals, I recommend this filter.
