They are not allowed the standard beef/bacon treats. Also, they are textured enough to give them some roughage since they are on a kidney diet which is soft food. My vet was happy that they are interested in them so I give them to them as a reward for just being cute, etc. If my dogs don't eat these then I know they are not feeling good - but - I love that all I have to say is "biscuit" and they coming running in from the yard. Much smaller now. *by J***C on June 23, 2021* Both of my dogs love this treat and it does a good job of keeping their teeth clean. I order these every two weeks, and I have been buying them for over a year. I am disappointed however, because the treats are much smaller than my past orders. I double checked the bag to make sure I ordered the same item, and they were identical. I had one treat left in my treat jar and compared it to the ones in the new bag I just purchased. The new ones are so much smaller. I feel cheated. It wasn’t just slightly smaller, it was significantly smaller.
