**Q: What does the hook end serve for?**
A: pull on a small limb to cut it, pull down a limb so you can grab it, clear out cut limbs under your feet using it like a rake, hook under a root pull to cut….. it’s endless once you get one in your hand. 

i live in florida and won’t buy a machete without some kind of hook on the spine. i almost use the hook more than the blade

**Q: Does it come with a good sharp edge or will i need to sharpen this?**
A: The blade is pre-sharpened and ready to use out of the box.

**Q: Can I use it like an axe for tree management?**
A: I used mine for small tree management, but anything beyond 2" thick is too much. I mainly use it for bush limb removal and small starting trees. Like clearing a fence line then I use my chainsaw to finish up.

**Q: What is the actual blade length?**
A: Blade is only 11" and almost not functional.

At first I was skeptical. But after a whole summer of use, it’s done its job well. Not the sharpest out the package, so sharpen it…duh! The hooks purpose kind of lacked due to its shape dullness, but it worked exceptionally well for me when pulling out pricker bushes and vines.
