However the included dinos seemed to struggle with the volume. The first day was a 1.5 inch circle floating in the middle. Then everything began to collapse to the bottom. Now only a few floating groups remain as it is struggling to get back 'healthy'. The glow isn't up to what I would expect. I believe maybe the packages of dinos had too little in them for it to have a great chance and starting. Leaving at 3 stars for now as they seem to be living, but are definitely not near what is seen in the photos. It's not a time zone issue, as I'm on the same time zone pyrofarms is. I've read all of the how to, and documents I can and this is the only understanding I can come to. I've included some photos to show the groupings on the second day. The third day there were less floating than that. Update: day 5 and it seems they are attempting recovery. I can see some in the water itself. Glowing is still not what videos show. Added a short clip from microscope camera Update: after contacting pyrofarms, a replacement set of dinos were shipped. The new set were more lively and now show a great floating yellow batch. It took support a bit to get back, however the replacement is much better. I have increased to 5 stars. I attached a new photo of the sphere with the batch that are all the way to the edges of the sphere. The glow is great and getting better every day. Review: Enchanting and Mesmerizing – A Living Piece of Ocean Magic - I am absolutely thrilled with my purchase of the Living Bioluminescent Bio-Orb. This large 6-inch glowing glass sphere is not just a decorative item; it's a captivating piece of living art. Firstly, the concept of this Bio-Orb is fascinating. It's powered by ocean plankton – tiny bioluminescent organisms that light up the orb. Watching these microorganisms glow in the dark is a magical experience, akin to having a piece of the ocean's mystery right in my living room. It's both educational and mesmerizing, making it a great conversation starter. The craftsmanship of the orb itself is commendable. The clear and beautifully shaped glass provides an unobstructed view of the plankton inside. It's large enough to be a statement piece, yet it fits perfectly on my desk, adding a unique touch to my home decor. What makes this Bio-Orb stand out is the natural beauty it offers. The glow is subtle yet noticeable, creating a soothing, ambient light in the room. It's like having a natural night light that's both soothing and fascinating. The way the plankton moves and lights up brings a sense of calm and wonder, making it a perfect addition to any space that needs a touch of serenity. The maintenance is surprisingly easy. It comes with clear instructions on how to care for the plankton, ensuring that this living ecosystem thrives. I appreciate the low maintenance aspect, as it allows me to enjoy the beauty of the orb without too much work. TL;DR: The Living Bioluminescent Bio-Orb is an extraordinary product that brings the wonder of bioluminescence into your home. It's educational, mesmerizing, and beautifully crafted, offering a unique blend of science and art. For anyone looking for something truly special and awe-inspiring, this Bio-Orb is a must-have. It's a glowing testament to the beauty of nature, and I highly recommend it. ## Features - Daytime Energy Absorption: The Large 6-inch Bio-Orb absorbs typical room lighting and CO2 during the day, functioning like a plant that requires daily light exposure - Natural Nighttime Bioluminescence: At night in the dark, the Large Bio-Orb produces natural light through bioluminescence, only during nighttime hours after 7pm and only while swirled - Air Purification with Living Microalgae: Filled with microalgae, living sea plants that clean your air by adding oxygen and removing greenhouse gases - Light Requirements and Care Instructions: The Large Bio-Orb requires moderate to low light to live like a house plant and must be opened within 24 hours of arrival - Oxygen Production: Scientists estimate that microalgae, like these in the Bio-Orb, provide more than half the air we breathe - Complete Starter Kit: Comes with two 200ml pouches of PyroDinos bioluminescent dinoflagellates, a 6-inch glass Orb with flat bottom, and 200ml DinoNutrients for optimal growth - Double Volume Capacity: The Large Bio-Orb contains twice the volume of PyroDinos compared to the standard Bio-Orb, providing enhanced bioluminescent effects ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B07YNC8W8R | | Additional Features | Lightweight | | Best Sellers Rank | #145,508 in Pet Supplies ( See Top 100 in Pet Supplies ) #598 in Live Aquarium Plants | | Brand | PyroFarms | | Brand Name | PyroFarms | | Collection Name | All | | Color | Clear | | Customer Reviews | 4.0 out of 5 stars 49 Reviews | | Finish Types | Clear | | Included Components | Two 200ml pouches of PyroDinos (bioluminescent dinoflagellates), 6-inch glass Orb with a flat bottom, 200ml DinoNutrients | | Item Depth | 6 inches | | Item Dimensions D x W x H | 6"D x 6"W x 6"H | | Item Highlight | Glowing Glass Sphere, Powered by Ocean Plankton | | Item Weight | 3 pounds | | Manufacturer | PyroFarms | | Manufacturer Warranty Description | 60 days from arrival. | | Material | Glass | | Material Type | Glass | | Model Number | 860006356682 | | Mounting Type | Tabletop | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 2 | | Occasion | indoor | | Product Care Instructions | Requires daily moderate to low light exposure like a house plant.
