I used yellow Teflon tape (for gas lines) and the connection was absolutely leak free. Very easy to install, once the anti-siphon part was removed (that was also easier than I expected). No more intermittent spurting of water, and no more constantly leaking anti-siphon valve. My house is old enough that the anti-siphon type is not required, if they're required where you live, save the parts you take off, just in case.
