The unit will shutdown after the 2 years as stated date on the box. The manufacturer offered a partial refund comparable to the time remaining of the warranty. This is now the 3rd item I have purchased from amazon and the product did not make the stated warranty. To me this is product dumping, and if you want to spend your personal time to send it back they will be happy to refund the sale.
