Review: Wow! Really good unit! - Just received after my old power subwoofer amp seemed to put out less bass, thought I'd revive it with a new amp instead of fixing a 20 year old amp. Everything is included (amp, power supply) and all you need to do is use your own speaker wire and hook it up to your subwoofer. In my case I tested the amp with my old car subwoofer and wow...works really good! At first I was a bit disappointed at full max BUT it was because I had the wrong settings, fortunately the instructions provided were helpful. From the factory it comes in setting "M" which is for full range speakers. After I switched the mode to "B", wow, I had to turn down my volume! Pretty legit and nice unit I have here. We'll see on the durability and longevity of this unit as its only been about 2 hrs. Will update as time goes on.

**Q: Can anybody tell me definitively--no guessing please--that the aux input is stereo? Is it only inputting one channel (left or right), or summing them?**
A: The system is just giving you a mono signal the subwoofer output on your receiver is just a mono signal unless you have a right and left output. I have never heard of right and left output before for a subwoofer, but I guess there is always a possibility.

**Q: Is this a good choice for a center channel speaker?**
A: It may work for you, depending on your speaker, the amp on other speakers, the other speakers, your set up (assuming you have something to feed a distinct center channel) and your room.  I wouldn't.  How many volume controls do you want to get up and mess with?  If you're trying for a home theater setup, you'll be happier with Amazon's entry level Onkyo 5.2 system at $329.  Use the speakers you have and upgrade as you can afford.  On the other hand if this is a dorm room, go for it.

**Q: I have a powered subwoofer but need to combine left and right channels with a cross. will this conflict with my powered sub?**
A: probably not a good fit with a powered sub unless you are replacing the amp in that sub.

**Q: can it handle a 12 inch sub 200watts?**
A: It can drive the speaker, but how well will depend on the efficiency of the speaker and not just the size and watts it can handle.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Power off thunk

If you do the obvious thing and plug this into a switched outlet on your receiver, you get an annoying thunk when you power off your receiver with this turned on. I get the same thing if I pull the plug out of the wall, so it's not my receiver. I'm also using their power brick, so a different one may not do this. I am leaving it on all the time. It probably draws less than the built in subwoofer amp it's replacing, which was always warm to the touch. Otherwise, it seems to work well.
